Comparison of Cycle Reduction and Model Reduction Strategies for the Design Optimization of Hybrid Powertrains on Driving Cycles

Decision-making is a crucial and difficult step in the design process of complex systems such as hybrid powertrain. Finding an optimal solution requires system feedback. This can be, depending on granularity models at component level, highly time-consuming. even more true when system’s performance determined by its control. In fact, various possibilities be selected to deliver required torque wheels during driving cycle. this work, two different strategies are proposed minimize fuel consumption cost Both adopt iterative framework which allows for separation powertrain problem control while leading optimality. The first approach based model reduction, second relies improved cycle reduction techniques. They then applied parallel vehicle case study, important reasonable delays compared using metrics.
